About

Veronica graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. Her keen interest in orthopaedic and sports rehabilitation led her to attain her Master degree in Sports Physiotherapy with distinction in 2006.  She was enthusiastic in working with elite and amateur athletes.  She was appointed as the Medical Delegate for many of the major games and was also the Honorary Physiotherapist for the Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association and Handball Association of Hong Kong, China.

Veronica worked in the Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital for almost 15 years (1999-2014) as a leader in the well-recognised sports team and golf program. She is the founder of PhysioFit (2014-2021), a private physiotherapy clinic with a good reputation in Central. She also gained vast clinical experience in a wide spectrum of medical and orthopaedic conditions as well as in post-operative management in all age groups.  She was nurtured to provide the best quality of care for every patient.  Her keen interest is managing various musculoskeletal problems with manual therapy, acupuncture and therapeutic exercises. In addition to her extensive expertise in sports physiotherapy, she has been very successful in treating the elderly to improve their mobility so that they can enjoy life to their full potential.

From her years of practice, she recognizes treatment will not have a sustained benefit unless the underlying causes can be identified.  A muscle becomes tight because it is overfiring from faulty movement patterns or because of excessive compensation by weaker muscles.  She developed an immense interest in movement dysfunction and pursued overseas training with renowned experts in this area of physiotherapy such as Shirley Sahrmann, Mark Comerford and Peter O’Sullivan.  She engaged in excellent new forms of exercises, namely Gyrotonic and Pilates, soon after they became available.  These techniques match perfectly what she has in mind about movement dysfunction and they bring theory into practice in a very interesting way.  The strategy completes the scope of physiotherapy management not only to manage injuries but also to enhance personal wellness with enjoyment.

Recently she has developed a significant interest in the treatment of scoliosis in adolescent and adult patients. This is an extension of her longstanding success in movement system analysis, but this time on a 3-dimension rotated spine. Every scoliosis curve is different but with detailed classification and specific manual therapy combined with the new Schroth exercises program the outcome has proven to be successful and very rewarding.
